Last week the sky asked us to close a chapter, and most of us did it with one hand still on the door. This week the door swings shut on its own. Sun in Virgo sharpens the pencil. Mars in Cancer is still tender from the summer. And on Friday, a last quarter moon in Gemini quietly walks in and asks a very fair question, which is what, of everything you have been carrying since August, still actually belongs to you.
The energy of the week
The week opens with a tug of war that lives in the body. Mars in Cancer squares Saturn retrograde in Aries on Tuesday, which is the cosmic version of an old rule bumping up against a very current feeling. You may notice yourself flinching at something you used to just shrug off. That is information, not overreaction.
Sun, Mercury, and Venus are all cruising through Virgo, which is why the whole week has a "let me just tidy this one drawer" quality. Virgo season is not about doing more. It is about doing less, better. Mercury in Virgo wants the honest sentence. Venus in Virgo wants the relationship that runs like a well-made bed.
Midweek, Wednesday and Thursday, the Moon moves through Taurus and into Gemini, and there is a real sweetness available if you slow down enough to catch it. A conversation you have been putting off may finally land softly.
Friday brings the last quarter moon in Gemini at 3:51 AM Eastern. Sun in Virgo, Moon in Gemini, both ruled by Mercury, both a little talky, both a little in their head. This is the "sort the pile" moon. Keep the good letters. Recycle the takeout menus. You know which is which.
Underneath all of it, Uranus is slowing down in Gemini, preparing to station retrograde next week. If your nervous system feels a little buzzy, a little "why am I awake at 3 AM," that is not you being broken. That is a planet parking the car. Pluto is still retrograde in Aquarius, doing its long, quiet excavation of what power actually means to you.
This is a sorting, softening, and sincere kind of week.
Your week ahead by sign
Aries (March 20 – April 19)
Sun in Virgo lights up your sixth house of daily rhythm, work, and the body. Mercury and Venus in there too, meaning the small choices you make this week, the coffee, the walk, the answered email, are the whole story. When the last quarter moon lands in your third house of communication on Friday, one honest, medium-length text can clear more than three weeks of overthinking. Saturn retrograde is still on your first house and asking you to move a little slower than usual. Let it.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Virgo season is your fifth house season, which means play, romance, and the color of your creative life. Mercury and Venus in the fifth are practically handing you a permission slip to do the thing just because you want to do it. Friday's Gemini last quarter moon hits your second house of money and self-worth, so you may feel the pull to look at the numbers, but the deeper question is what you actually value. Not what you should value. What you do.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
The Sun is warming your fourth house of home, family, and the inside of your own chest. Mercury, your ruler, is in that same soft corner all week. This is a good week to rearrange one small thing in your space and see how your whole body feels different for it. Friday's last quarter moon happens in your first house, in your own sign, which makes it personal. You will feel the shift before you can name it. Trust the feeling first, name it later. Uranus slowing in your sign is asking you to breathe deeper than you think you need to.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Mars is still in your first house and you have been running warm for weeks. Tuesday's Mars square Saturn may bring up an old "you should" that does not fit the person you are becoming. You are allowed to let it not fit. Sun and company in your third house make this a beautiful week for a real conversation, the kind where both people put their phones face down. Friday's last quarter moon in your twelfth house asks for early bedtimes and quiet mornings. That is not lazy. That is medicine.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Jupiter is still expanding your first house, which means you are the size you are supposed to be right now. Sun in your second house this week puts the spotlight on money, values, and what feels genuinely yours. Mercury and Venus are there too, sweetening the ledger. Friday's Gemini last quarter moon lights up your eleventh house of friends and community. A group text, a coffee, a small yes to being in the room with your people. That is the assignment.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Happy season, love. Sun, Mercury, and Venus are all in your first house this week and you may feel more visible than you are used to. Let yourself be seen without editing the sentence. The last quarter moon on Friday lands in your tenth house of career and public life, which means what you say and how you say it will travel. Speak from the version of you that has already made peace with being noticed. Neptune retrograde is still asking you to trust the quiet knowing over the loud opinion.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Sun in your twelfth house means this is your quiet week, your close-the-door week, your "I know you invited me but I am staying in" week. Mercury and Venus in the twelfth are dreamy and inward. This is the last stretch before your season begins, and your body knows it. Friday's Gemini last quarter moon in your ninth house may spark a big question about what you actually believe, not what you were told to believe. Write it down without answering it yet.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Sun in Virgo activates your eleventh house of community, and there is a friend you have been meaning to circle back to. This is the week. Mercury and Venus in the eleventh make even a low-key hang feel replenishing. Friday's last quarter moon hits your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources, and the things you only tell one or two people. Something wants to be admitted, gently. Pluto retrograde in your fourth house is still doing its long, slow renovation of what home means to you.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Sun in your tenth house of career keeps the professional spotlight warm this week. Mercury and Venus in the tenth make the emails easier and the meetings kinder. On Friday, the last quarter moon in Gemini lights up your seventh house of one-to-one relationships, and someone may reflect you back to yourself in a way that lands. Take the compliment. Take the critique too, if it is offered with love. Both are useful.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Sun in Virgo is in your ninth house of expansion, learning, and the wider view. This is a week to read the thing, watch the documentary, listen to the podcast that opens the window. Mercury and Venus in the ninth make ideas feel a little more like romance. Friday's last quarter moon in your sixth house of daily work asks you to look at what you are doing every day and whether it is quietly draining you or quietly building you. You already know.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Sun in your eighth house of intimacy, depth, and shared resources brings a serious undertone to what could otherwise be a light week. Mercury and Venus in the eighth are asking you to have the money conversation, or the "what are we" conversation, with more honesty than usual. Friday's last quarter moon in your fifth house of play reminds you that seriousness without joy is just endurance. Pluto retrograde in your first house is still peeling back a layer of who you are. Let it.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Sun opposite you in Virgo lights up your seventh house of partnership all week. Mercury and Venus in the seventh mean your closest people are more of a mirror than usual. That is a gift. Friday's last quarter moon in your fourth house of home asks you to notice what your space is telling you. A candle, a fresh sheet, one open window. Small things count. Neptune retrograde in your second house is quietly clarifying what you actually want to be paid for.
A practice for the week
Three questions, one per morning, then a moment on Sunday. That is the whole practice.
Tuesday, ask yourself: what am I still doing out of habit that I would not choose fresh today.
Wednesday, ask yourself: what has been easy that I have been calling unimportant.
Friday, when the last quarter moon comes in, ask yourself: what is one thing I can put down before the weekend.
Then on Sunday, find fifteen minutes with a window and a warm drink and no phone. Notice what the week actually gave you. That is the whole practice.
