Your Weekly Cosmic Forecast: September 8-14, 2026

Last week the sky was still humming with that late-summer Virgo hum, that quiet urge to sort, tidy, and take yourself a little more seriously. This week the volume goes up. Thursday, September 10, is the pivot. In a handful of hours, the sky delivers a new moon in Virgo, ushers Mercury into Libra, sends Venus into Scorpio, and turns Uranus retrograde in Gemini. That is a lot of doors opening and closing at once. By next weekend, you will feel the first real signals of what fall is asking of you, so this week is the doorway.

The energy of the week

The Sun is still in Virgo, holding the whole week in that steady, discerning light. Virgo wants you to notice the small things. What is on your desk. What time you actually went to bed. What you keep putting off because it feels boring. This is not busywork energy. It is care in disguise.

Mercury spends the first two days finishing up in Virgo, cleaning the last few thoughts off the counter, then slides into Libra on Wednesday night into Thursday. Conversations get more diplomatic, more give and take. You may find yourself softer with people this week than you have been in a while.

Venus is on her way out of Libra, and on Thursday she steps into Scorpio. Something in you goes quieter and deeper. Wanting gets more honest. Casual is less interesting. If a connection has been drifting on the surface, this transit will ask it to either go deeper or float away.

Mars is in the late degrees of Cancer, meaning what you love and what you want to protect are running the show. Around Friday and Saturday, Mars in Cancer trines Venus in Scorpio and something feels almost gravitational. Slow, sure, magnetic. Pay attention.

Uranus turns retrograde in Gemini on Thursday, right on top of the new moon. That is the sky telling you, gently, to look again at any story you have been telling yourself since spring. Pluto is still moving backward through Aquarius, wrapping up its retrograde before turning direct next month. Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries are holding their trine open through September 22, which means anything you build with your heart right now has real bones underneath it.

This is a discerning, deepening, and doorway kind of week.

Your week ahead by sign

Aries (March 20 - April 19)
The sun is lighting up your sixth house of daily rhythm, health, and the small things. This week's new moon on Thursday is an invitation to reset one habit, not twelve. When Mercury slides into your seventh house of partners the same day, the people closest to you may want to talk. Venus moving into your eighth house makes intimacy feel richer, less polite. The Libra moon over the weekend softens something you have been holding tight.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Your fifth house of creativity, romance, and play is the room with all the windows open right now. The Virgo new moon on Thursday gives you a clean page for the thing you have been almost making. When Venus enters Scorpio, your seventh house of partnership gets more magnetic and more honest. The weekend moon in your sixth house asks you to eat a real meal and put the phone down. That is enough.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Home is the story this week. The sun is in your fourth house, and Uranus turning retrograde in your first house on Thursday is a soft nudge to look again at how you have been introducing yourself lately. When Mercury enters Libra on Thursday, it lands in your fifth house and creativity gets easier. The Scorpio moon over the weekend pulls you toward your sixth house rituals. Simple ones. Tea, walk, early sleep.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Mars in your first house all week means you are the weather. What you decide, moves. The new moon on Thursday lands in your third house of conversation and small local errands, and it is an unusually powerful one for setting an intention around how you speak to yourself. When Venus enters your fifth house on Thursday, romance and creative flirtation both pick up. Say yes to the Friday plan.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Your second house of money, values, and what you own is lit up this week. The Virgo new moon on Thursday is a good time to look at one number, one line item, one decision about what you actually want to spend on. Mercury into your third house makes writing and short conversations flow. Venus into your fourth house makes your home want to be beautiful. Light the candle.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
This is your new moon. Thursday is a portal for you specifically. Whatever intention you set this week has the whole solar year to grow into. Mercury moves into your second house of resources on Thursday, so the conversations you have about money and worth this week matter. Venus into your third house makes your voice a little more magnetic. Weekend moon in your third house wants you journaling.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
The sun is winding down its trip through your twelfth house of rest, dreams, and quiet endings. This week may feel like the last few pages of a long chapter. The Virgo new moon on Thursday is a soft internal reset, more felt than seen. Mercury arriving in your first house on Thursday is the sun peeking through, and by next week you will feel more like yourself. Venus into your second house asks what you actually value.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Your eleventh house of friends, community, and the future is the room to sit in this week. The new moon on Thursday plants a seed about who you want in your circle for the next chapter. Venus enters your first house on Thursday, which is a small, real gift. Something about how you carry yourself softens and sharpens at the same time. The weekend moon in your first house makes you the center of gravity. Wear the good thing.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
Career and calling are lit. The sun in your tenth house is holding a steady light on what you are building publicly. The Virgo new moon on Thursday is one of the best career new moons of your year. Ask for the thing. Mercury into your eleventh house makes networking feel less awkward. Venus into your twelfth house asks you to rest more than you think you need to.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Your ninth house of expansion, travel, and belief is the wide open one right now. The new moon on Thursday plants a seed about what you want to learn, or where you want to go, before the year is out. Mercury into your tenth house sharpens your work voice. Venus into your eleventh house makes a friendship feel newly meaningful. The Scorpio moon this weekend brings a real conversation with a real friend.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
Your eighth house of intimacy, shared resources, and transformation is the deep water this week. The Virgo new moon on Thursday is a chance to make a quiet, honest choice about something you have been almost deciding. Uranus turning retrograde in your fifth house asks you to look again at what you make just for the joy of it. Venus into your tenth house makes work feel more magnetic. You may be more visible than usual.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
Your seventh house of partnership is the room with the good chairs this week. The Virgo new moon on Thursday is a new beginning in a close relationship, romantic or not. Mercury into your eighth house makes hard conversations easier to start. Venus into your ninth house may make you daydream about a place you have never been. Let it. The weekend moon in your ninth house agrees.

A practice for the week

Try one question per day, if you want to.

Monday and Tuesday, ask yourself, what small thing have I been meaning to take care of that would actually change my week if I did it? Then do just that one thing.

Wednesday and Thursday, around the new moon, ask, what am I ready to begin quietly, without announcing? Write it on paper. Put the paper somewhere only you can see.

Friday, ask, what do I actually want, when I am being honest? Venus in Scorpio will meet you there.

Then on Saturday or Sunday, go somewhere with a little water. A bath, a lake, a glass in the kitchen at 3pm. Sit with it for five minutes. That is the whole practice.
